The Cellar Door is a friendly community for the crazy writer, artist, actor, singer, lyricist, etc. in each and every one of us! ...

Well, well, well! Lookie here! [As];;o n e has managed to get her computer to behave to such a point where she can begin making site images once more! What a shocker, no? Aside from fixing up side-table images, she's also got some more plans in the works for the site. This may require The Cellar Door to go down into maintancence mode for a short while, let's hope it doesn't have to go down at all! There will be some new shiny categories and even shinier boards. Be sure to keep checking in!
Again, from the previous news, the new submission guidelines will not take effect until further notice. Please stay tuned!

Sept.23.2009
Well, The Cellar Door may be under construction for a longer time than was originally anticipated. [As];;o n e's laptop finally kicked the bucket, scuttled off of its mortal coil and gone to sing with the bleeding choir invisible, and thus, all of her work with the site's graphics has gone with it. It's not like we never saw it coming but still, it's rather distressing to say the least. So for those of you new to The Cellar Door, please excuse the altogether unfinished look of the site. We're also unsure of how long it may take to replace her hard drive, wish us luck!
Again, from the previous news, the new submission guidelines will not take effect until further notice. Please stay tuned!

Sept.15.2009
The Cellar Door is back up and running! You can probably tell that there are some things still under construction for the new version, but everything's functional and ready! If you haven't guessed, the new version is "Because the Sky is Blue" so please remember to change your active skin from your profile! Also, the new change in submission guidelines will not take effect for a few more weeks; we can't critique and comment works that aren't here, now can we?

The bitter cold holds my fragile form close,
I am as a tree, shifting with the breeeze.
If I do not move surely I will freeze,
Of a hearty warmth I could use a dose.
I see the canyon, my winter home.
Safety and peace are found between its peaks.
I look to the front as our chieftain speaks,
He spoke, "No more this year are we to roam."
We ascend the heights, passing wood and creek,
Clans withing tribes assemble their tipees,
Bundling and wrapping their bodies with furs.
But the white man, being a wretched sneak,
Gave sexually transmitted disease
Through sick folk's blankets, being saboteurs.

Trippy weekend. Had some brownies. Now I realise that you should ask how strong they are before eating half the tray. But I fell in love again. With the music of Nyhm. Heh heh heh, HIGH elves.... "Hi, I'm Vic Mignoga, and I'm a warlock. I can even do.... ALCHEMY."

[xxx]--PG-13(ish?) Blood, violence, and mild school borne spookiness

Say whaaaaat! Yeah, for our French Halloween project, we were supposed to (apparently; I wasn't there XD) draw a picture with french words or write a story almost entirely in french... well, I'mma sayin' screw both of them. I tossed 'em in a blender and I'm turning it into a mini-manga (it will even be read from right to left) for my project =D Then, if I like it, I might just change the french to english and continue on from there! I haven't quite decided yet but it will most likely deviate from the main storyline of Demons in order to make it at least slightly more school appropriate XD
Also, I find it hilariously strange that Linkin Park's song 'New Divide' is fueling this, *peers about* I'll probably be using this song for the actual story as well. I love it when I find things that give me muse.
Anywho! I'm determined to make this project as epic as my time allows!

I can't believe I got a free cake, a TNBC button, and candy from people on my birthday. I also can't believe that I had to bury a bloody squirrel and drink fish crap. All in all, a most interesting birthday.

I turn sixteen tomorrow! I'm prepared to party all weekend long. Tomorrow night I'm gonna see The Vampire's Assistant with some friends, and I've got a date on Sunday with an amazing girl I've been in classes with for, oh let's see... seven years! I used to have a crush on her in fifth grade, but thankfully she doesn't remember that. :D

As for my ex, I wish her all the best. I briefly, and regrettably, was bitter about things, but now I think what she did was best for both of us. Hopefully she can accept my apology, beat the shit out of me, and we can move on. My view on people you've loved and lost is quite simple: two people can just misinterpret their feelings for each other. The feelings were there, of course, but we mistook them for something else. I hope we can reevaluate our feelings together soon, because I'll never stop caring about her. :)

Pain for pain.
Sorrow for sorrow.
Sickness for sickness.
Life for life.
Health for health.
Joy for joy.
Peace for peace.

Life is worth living, but only when you truly get to LIVE it. I can't LIVE without her. I can see, but she's all that's worth looking at. Pictures and sketches are not enough, though. I can hear, but I only want to listen to her. A recording of her voice doesn't cut it. I can taste, but nothing compares to my favourite taste. Mmm, minty! I can smell, but without her pleasing aroma the air goes stale. Sandalwood. I can touch, but I'd much rather feel her near me. Hands so soft, skin so fair. Why can't she be near me again?

You may hold a knife between my eyes, but I will never flinch so long as it is you behind the knife.

Don't you know it's gonna be alright?

"Oh wow! It makes the art totally three dimensional!" Ted grinned as he peered through the special viewing lenses on the CD. Haley smiled weakly, watching his fascination peak and soar as he flipped through the vibrantly colored pictures. Her eyes briefly glanced across the pages; pictures of yellow and blue and red faces with hundreds of eyes, she was already quite familiar with them. She clutched a stuffed platypus in her arms, the rest of her body shook with nervous discomfort, under toned in the ultimate sadness that had slipped into her life over the past week. She lied down, resting her head on the soft fabric of her blue pillow case, pulling the teal creature under her chin and pulling her legs close to her body. She watched him, on the end of her bed, still entranced with the LSD inspired artwork. Another weak, emaciated smile traced its ghostly outline along her lips as salty liquid slowly filled her eyes. She quietly teared and sniffed, closing her eyes briefly.
"You're just chilling down there aren't you?" His voice, full of humor, reached her, opening her eyes for her.
Haley nodded quietly, trying to smile again, but her effort crumpled under the weight of the agony that tore through her heart and soul. She cried quietly to herself, closing her eyes again. She felt the light witticism dissolve in the wake of her tears, and as the bed stirred and he moved closer to her.
Ted leaned his body over her's, green eyes quietly gazing down at her wet cheeks. He rested his chin on her shoulder, running a hand through her hair gently as he spoke tenderly.
"I'm not done with you. I just need time to get my life back together."
Her dead smile returned, quivering slightly as she sobbed feebly, nodding her head. Ted stood from her bed, her eyes flickered up, watching his movements.
"Come on, stand up," he quipped, maintaining a happy voice as he opened his leather jacket, offering her entrance like habit dictated.
She stood shakily, putting the plush beast down on her bed and filling the gaps between them, wrapping her arms around his torso. Haley whimpered and cried into his shirt, holding her breath as to not wail too horribly or loud. Her fingers grasped at his shirt, tugging on the fabric as she buried her face into his chest. She calmed however, carefully regaining the pattern of her breath and her composure. His fingers softly tugged at her shirt, rubbing her side as he quietly spoke.
"Why didn't you show me those things before?"
She thought in silence for a moment. The box was filled with poetry and art and her diary from the previous year, as well as a few other mementos that she decided to put in. Haley slowly inflated her lungs with oxygen, speaking quietly after another half of a moment.
"I was scared."
She pulled away a bit, looking up at him, just barely seeing his eyes above her.
"I was scared of how you would react to them. I guess I just needed to wait for the right time to give them to you."
She replaced her head on Ted's chest, listening carefully as his heart pounded out a steady rhythm. Haley took a deep breath, holding his aroma inside of her for a moment, savoring the pheromone. Haley looked up at him, rising on her tip toes and kissing his lips softly, hardly a whisper of a touch. Her voice, nervous and just slightly hopeful sounded again, piercing the quiet static of music.
"Would you lie with me for a minute?"
Ted quietly release the hug, shed his outer coating of leather and moved towards her bed, lying down quietly, Haley close at his heels.
She reclaimed the platypus, holding it loosely as she put her back against Ted's stomach, his arms growing snug around her frame. She twisted, removing the eye glasses from his face and placing them on the shelf behind her pillows, then reclaimed her place within his warm embrace. Eyelids became heavier, and she felt a comforting sleep rearing its head. But her peace was disturbed by tremors from the body behind her, his arms holding just a bit tighter. Haley was bit startled to feel him shake, he always appeared so strong and accepting of everything, like a pillar rather than her own flimsy foundation. She ran a finger along his arm, sighing contentedly as he kissed the back of her neck. She kissed his fingers before her voice leaked into the placid atmosphere.
"Do you want to hold the platypus, Ted?"
He sniffed quietly, snuggling closer into her as he spoke.
"No," he paused to kiss her neck once more, "just you."
A smile, one that was true and full pierced her face and she pushed herself closer to him, nuzzling her face into his arms. After a moment, however, she rolled onto her back, leaning in to place a kiss carefully above Ted's eyebrow. He buried his face into the crook of her neck, shaking still, and gently began to weep into her. Haley was startled, but nonetheless pulled his body closer to hers, allowing him to bury his face into her chest, stroking the short hair that covered his head. Her own emotions began to act as she felt his body tremble and listened to each tear that fell from his eyes, her own beginning to flood her vision. Her lips touched his forehead, as well as his cheek and his ear as she whispered sweet nothings into him, doing all she knew to calm him.
"It's alright, it's alright to cry, Ted."
She muttered quietly into him, sobbing right along with him, their arms enveloping each other while they gingerly cried into each other.
"What's wrong, Teddy?"
She sniffled quietly, breathing him and hanging onto this moment.
An eternity may have passed while they closed their eyes and held each other. The years could have melted down around them as they wept in this dribbling world that was sinking into Hell as they remained in each others grasp. But no matter the circumstance and whether it was a few minutes or a few million years, they were together. And that's all that mattered.
She peered at him, watching him open his eyes, now bloodshot yet still glowing with his spirit. She leaned forward to kiss his lips again, which he did not return. Haley pulled away in a minute shame but watched him anyway, letting a hand caress his face as she waited for his words. Ted replaced his head on her chest, waiting a moment before he spoke.
"Will you wait for me?"
She paused for only a second, taking in his words before she responded.
"Always."
She nestled her face into his, kissing his cheek gently before she found the will to speak once more.
"I will never stop waiting for you. I will wait as long as you need."
She felt his body shake again, and he rose on his elbows, looking into her eyes with a sort of relieved, lucid gaze. His face moved closer, their lips connecting in an electric display of affection. Their tongues met gently and massaged one another timidly. Their lips parted once, connected quickly once more before he pulled away, looking down with a smile. She smiled quietly, a warmth radiating into her heart once more before she uttered to him once more.
"Will you wait for me?"
He gazed at her, a hand stroking her face and hair as he nodded. Haley felt deep inside of her that they would never be torn apart.
They both rose, embracing tightly once more.
And as these children held each other, clinging to the others hope and love, life could have shattered around them. The world could have crumbled and the sky could have fell down. But despite anything else, they were together, and that's all that mattered.
