The Cellar Door is a friendly community for the crazy writer, artist, actor, singer, lyricist, etc. in each and every one of us! ...

Well, well, well! Lookie here! [As];;o n e has managed to get her computer to behave to such a point where she can begin making site images once more! What a shocker, no? Aside from fixing up side-table images, she's also got some more plans in the works for the site. This may require The Cellar Door to go down into maintancence mode for a short while, let's hope it doesn't have to go down at all! There will be some new shiny categories and even shinier boards. Be sure to keep checking in!
Again, from the previous news, the new submission guidelines will not take effect until further notice. Please stay tuned!

Well, The Cellar Door may be under construction for a longer time than was originally anticipated. [As];;o n e's laptop finally kicked the bucket, scuttled off of its mortal coil and gone to sing with the bleeding choir invisible, and thus, all of her work with the site's graphics has gone with it. It's not like we never saw it coming but still, it's rather distressing to say the least. So for those of you new to The Cellar Door, please excuse the altogether unfinished look of the site. We're also unsure of how long it may take to replace her hard drive, wish us luck!
Again, from the previous news, the new submission guidelines will not take effect until further notice. Please stay tuned!

The Cellar Door is back up and running! You can probably tell that there are some things still under construction for the new version, but everything's functional and ready! If you haven't guessed, the new version is "Because the Sky is Blue" so please remember to change your active skin from your profile! Also, the new change in submission guidelines will not take effect for a few more weeks; we can't critique and comment works that aren't here, now can we?

Welcome! We're all glad to see you here and are even more pleased with the fact that you're being amazingly good and reading rules, that automatically grants you a delicious cookie of your liking!

Behave yourselves, no cursing out other members unless you have a justified (and by justified I mean: If you don't the world is going to end in a fiery mass) reason, and even then, please come to an administrator to help sort things out.

Respect other people's views on subjects. We're all writers, artists, actors, etc., and thus, we are all somewhat crazy to begin with.

Absolutely no flaming other people's work no matter how bad or poorly done you may think it is. If you feel that something goes against your own personal religious views, please don't make a whole to-do about it. If it offends you, don't read it.

No stealing anything from this site. The art and writings herein are property of the writers/artists who did the piece, stealing will not be tolerated! If you want a copy of something, a picture or writing, pm] the member who submitted it for permission! We all loathe thieves, don't you?

Any artwork or writing involving adult situations or anything that may offend members of certain beliefs, younger members, etc. etc. put 'xxx' in the title and give a warning as to what could be considered inappropriate before beginning the actual piece.

No chat speak in written pieces of work unless something from that piece just so happens to involve people talking in an online chatroom etc. etc. , in ooc is fine however.

Please, please, please remember to use correct grammar! Use the spell checker and use what you've learned in school! We all understand a spelling error etc. here and there, but please don't make it a habit, besides, it makes everything far easier to read!

Please do not just post work and sit back, go and critique other member's works as well, give some observations and you will get the same in return! Update: In order to post something, you must critique/comment someone's work!

If a piece requires more than one post to finish, please do not reply to that thread until the author/artist has said (and typed) that it is done and nothing more is to come, then go and comment/critique to your heart's content!

When submitting something, art or writing, if you don't want it to be critiqued or commented upon, please say so in the first post so people will know.

When critiquing and/or commenting, please give good critiques/comments, as in, none of this:
Wow! That was good, I liked it!
Or this:
Wow! 10/10
Please give the author/artist something detailed, like:
Wow, this is excellent! I love the way the character reacts to blah blah blah. Your descriptions are wonderful but I noticed a few spelling errors that stood out a little. Other than that, very well done!
Don't be afraid to tell the artist/author that you don't like something in it, just do it in a way that doesn't hurt their feelings, remember, you'll most likely be in the same position also.

The rules have been updated, everything in red is new or revised!
